A MAN has been charged and is due to appear in court after a woman was seriously injured in a crash near Shaftesbury.

Three cars crashed on the A350 near to the Littledown Business Park at 3.08pm on Thursday, May 25.

Emergency services attended and a woman aged in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two other people were also treated for minor injuries.

Adam Goddard, 40, from Hastings in Sussex was arrested in connection with the incident and, following an investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT), he has been charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.

He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 31.
