A popular live poet will be bringing his sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show to Dorchester this February.
Artist Luke Wright has been a performance poet for 25 years and is celebrating this milestone with his show Silver Jubilee at Piddletrenthide Memorial Hall, Dorchester, on February 2.
The personal story of how Luke stumbled across his birth mother on Facebook is interwoven into an evening of “warm and honest” poems and stand-up, examining themes of privilege, familial love, and destiny.
The show will also feature experiments in form, a nervous kitten called Sir John Betjeman and some drum 'n' bass.
Silver Jubilee made its debut at the Latitude Festival 2023 before a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in the same year.
The performance will start at 6.30pm on Friday, February 2 and is suitable for people aged 14+. The show will then tour to Blandford Royal British Legion on February 3 at 7.30pm.
