A power cut in Dorchester resulted in town council offices closing yesterday.
An unplanned outage was reported at 12.15pm on Thursday, January 18 which affected the 19 North Square offices at Dorchester Town Council.
The building was left with no phonelines, internet or heating.
The offices had to close while Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) fixed the problem.
Steve Newman, Dorchester Town Clerk, said: “We lost power at the offices yesterday lunchtime, SSE have been trying to restore it since then. My understanding is that they will have done that very shortly and the office can then re-open.”
Mr Newman also added he didn’t know if other properties had a power outage but that Corn Exchange and Kwik Fit weren't affected.
Power was subsequently restored at midday today.
SSE has been contacted for comment.
