A BADLY injured seagull was rescued near Weymouth Harbour.
A group of young people spotted the injured bird on Friday evening and alerted Community Safety Patrol Officers (CSAS) who were on patrol in the area.
The seagull was taken to a local veterinarian by the CSAS officers.
A spokesperson for Weymouth Community Safety Patrol Officers said: "This evening our Community Safety Patrol Officers were approached by some caring young people who had spotted a badly injured seagull near to Weymouth Harbour.
"Patrol officers transported the injured party to a local Veterinarian. Thank you to the young people who spotted this and thank you to the veterinary staff for helping."
The CSAS officers also engaged positively with a small group of youths over in Portland, in Easton Gardens.
A spokesperson for Weymouth CSAS added: "Officers are frequently carrying out patrols in this area and will continue to tackle any related Anti-Social Behaviour."
