A 'large amount of jewellery and cash' has been stolen from a home in north Dorset.

It is reported that in the early hours of the morning on Sunday,  January 28, the thieves forced entry to a property in Marnhull where they broke into a cabinet and stole large amounts of jewellery and cash.

It was reported that a car was sighted suspiciously close to the property at around 5am.

Police Constable Ioanna Spence-Samoili, of Blandford police, said: “Our enquiries are continuing and I would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time.

“I would also appeal to residents and drivers within the areas of Marnhull as far south as Pleck to please review their dashcams and home security doorbells and cameras to see if they have captured anything during the early hours of the morning which may be of relevance to our investigation.”
