A man has been charged with assault after a woman was injured in Sturminster Newton.
The man, in his 30s, has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman in her 30s outside an address in Stour View Close.
The woman was subsequently taken to hospital to receive treatment after sustaining injuries to her face.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 10.15pm on Wednesday February 7 of disturbance at an address in Stour View Close.
"It was further reported that a woman had been assaulted outside the address by a man who was known to her, with the incident continuing in the areas of Honeymead Lane and Field Close.
"Officers attended the scene and the woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries.
"A man aged in his 30s was arrested and was subsequently charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
"He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, February 10 and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday March 14."
