LUXURY apartments built on Weymouth harbourside have gone on the market - and it will cost almost half a million pounds for one of the penthouse properties.
The new "boutique" block has been built on the A354 Westwey Road between the probation hostel and the Corscombe Close development, overlooking the inner harbour and marina.
It comes as the area around Weymouth Harbour changes with new developments springing up and work ongoing to regenerate what Dorset Council calls the 'waterside economy'.
The pricing of the apartments at this new site, called Marina View, ranges from £325,000 for the standard flats to £495,000 for the penthouse properties.
One of the three-bedroom penthouses has already been sold.
Unusually for a new build development, holiday lettings are permitted.
Holiday homes located next to the water are always in high demand according to local estate agents DOMVS, and it anticipates rents of "up to £2,000 per week" in high season.
Polly Greenway, CEO of DOMVS said: “The waterfront position is attractive to both homebuyers and investors. Apartments with such a fabulous outlook rarely come to the market and given the attractive price tag, we expect much interest. ”
