A musical based on the story of one of Henry VIII’s wives will be performed at village halls across the county.

Following their previous tour of the folk-musical Magellan Circumnavigation, musicians Bob Whitley and Lee MacKenzie are returning to Dorset with their new show Anne Boleyn: Wolf at the Door as part of a spring programme of events by Artsreach.

The show will delve into the story of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Tudor monarch Henry VIII, who supplanted Catherine of Aragon as Queen of England on the promise that she will bear the king a son and royal heir.

The first Dorset venue will be at Milborne St Andrew village hall with a performance on Wednesday, March 20 at 7.30pm.

The show will then perform at Nether Compton village hall, at the earlier time of 2.30pm on Friday, March 22 before making its way to Wootton Fitzpaine village hall for a performance at 7.30pm on Sunday, March 24.
