An association will welcome members of local authorities at its annual meeting as they look to discuss the future.

The Poundbury Residents' Association will have their AGM at Damers First School, Liscombe Street on Wednesday, March 20, at 7pm.

Recently, the group met to look into reforming as a Community Association, benefiting the wider area, as well as a focus on those living around the development, including residents who rent property.

Their Big Conversation, a series of extensive surveys highlighted issues around road safety, the need for a community hub, which links in with activities needed for young people in Poundbury, as well as they way in which the association can help tackle rime and anti-social behaviour

Jason Bowerman, from landowners the Duchy of Cornwall, will be in attendance at the meeting to give a presentation on the final phase of Poundbury’s development, as well as the Duchy's role in the community.

Attendees will also get the chance to raise issues or ask questions of the ward’s local councillors, and local police liaison, Jane Goodwin.

The group will then look to appoint new members to the committee, including a new co-chair and secretary, so it can continue to work on projects.

Tickets for the meeting are free and can be obtained from www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/poundbury-residents-association-annual-general-meeting-tickets-840087744057?aff=oddtdtcreator
