A community will come together to commemorate Easter weekend with an egg decorating workshop and rolling race.

The free event on Easter Monday will see a variety of multi-coloured eggs slalom down the slopes of the Great Field in Poundbury.

Entrants are invited to bring their own decorated hard boiled egg, without glitter on, and enter it into a competition for the best decorated egg.

The egg rolling competition will then take place to see whose egg can roll the furthest down the slope.

There will be different age categories for both best decorated and furthest egg rolled between the years 0 to 5, 10 to 15, and 15 years and over.

Easter-themed prizes will be up for grabs.

People can decorate the eggs at home - or join in with the egg decorating workshop at the PiP café on the Great Field from Monday, April 1 from 10am, with the roll race and decoration to be judged at 11am.
