A film festival based in Bridport has announced this year’s screenings and guest line-up.
Among the star guests making an appearance will be acclaimed actors Francesca Annis and Christopher Eccleston.
This year marks the15th anniversary of Bridport film festival, From Page To Screen, established as a cinematic companion to Bridport Arts Centre's (BAC) international writing competition the Bridport Prize.
It will run from Wednesday, April 24 to Sunday, April 28 at the Bridport Arts Centre, featuring exclusive previews and Q&As with renowned actors and filmmakers.
Rebecca Lenkiewicz is this year’s festival’s curator, who attended the festival as a guest in 2023, where she discussed writing the screenplay for She Said – a book documenting the true story of how two New York Times journalists uncovered the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
"I had such a wonderful time at Bridport last year with its amazing film festival From Page to Screen.
“I'm excited to be curating it this year and the films and events at the festival are varied and brilliant. We're exploring the themes of Life Stories and Future Worlds."
This year's line-up will include two exclusive previews of Elene Naveriani's Blackbird Blackbird Blackberry, and The Beast starring Léa Seydoux & George Mackay.
There will also showings of Herzog's The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser, Carl Theodor Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc with a live accompaniment and documentary feature films Paul Sng's Tish and Poly Styrene: I am a Cliché.
Acclaimed actors Francesca Annis and Christopher Eccleston will be in attendance the following day to discuss the films The Tragedy of Macbeth and Kes.
This will be followed by talks from writers and directors Christopher Hampton, Simon Chambers, Paul Sng and cinematographer Christopher Blauvelt as well as a selection of short films on the closing Sunday.
