A car was involved in a crash in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Maiden Newton Fire Station received a call by Dorset Police to attend the site of a road traffic collision in West Compton just before 6am.
They were called to make the vehicle safe which involved disconnecting the battery.
No people involved in the crash were present at the scene when fire crews arrived.
A spokesperson from Maiden Newton Fire Station said: "There are many hidden hazards at RTCs including undeployed airbags.
"These can deploy at any time after a collision causing serious injury and on occasions have been known to kill responders. #StaySafeOnTheRoads"
The Dorset Echo has contacted Dorset Police, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and the South Western Ambulance Service for comment.
