A flood alert has been issued for Weymouth.

The Environment Agency says that river levels remain high but are steady on the River Wey, Preston Brook, and River Jordan.

River levels remain above the flood alert level at the Broadwey gauge.

More rain is forecast tomorrow and on Friday.

A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said: "The overall totals are forecast to be low so we do not expect significant impact on river levels although they will remain high for the next few days. We will continue to monitor the forecast and re-issue this alert if necessary.

"Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
