Artists across Dorset are invited to create a sitting space to accompany a new food heritage trail.

The Dorset National Landscape team has announced plans to create a temporary, seasonal, or permanent seating installation which would accompany a new Food Trail.

The trail is a project by the Dorset National Landscape team as part of Dorset Council’s delivery of the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

It will follow much of the Frome Valley Way cycle trail, which runs between Dorchester and Maiden Newton.

The aim is to encourage a wider range of people to connect with the landscape and food heritage of the area. It will focus on the county's market culture, celebrating food grown in the area.

A capital budget has been assigned and delivery of the project as a whole is expected before the end of December this year.

The total budget for this commission is £20,000, with an additional £1000 available for each of the three shortlisted artists to work up initial ideas.

Deadline for expressions of interest is Tuesday, April 9.
