A Weymouth woman has appeared in court charged with allegations of assault, causing grievous bodily harm, breaking bail and witness intimidation.

Mercedes Ealson, aged 23, of Berkshire Close in Weymouth, attended Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, March 14. The case was heard by judge Mr Recorder Tait.

The charges relate to an incident at Crescent Street in Weymouth on March 23, 2023, in which Ealson is alleged to have assaulted and caused actual bodily harm to a woman, and alleged to have caused grievous bodily harm with intent to a man.

She has also been charged with allegedly breaking bail conditions and witness intimidation by threatening harm to a man on February 9, 2024.

Ealson has been released on conditional bail with the condition not to contact a named man and woman and to remain at her home address on an electrically monitored curfew between 8pm and 8am.

She did not enter a plea, and the case has been adjourned to Bournemouth Crown Court on April 4.
