Police are appealing for witnesses after a car crashed into a property in Weymouth.

The incident is said to have occurred at around 4am on Saturday, March 16 when a grey BMW left the road and crashed into a garage wall of a property on Portland Road in Wyke Regis.

It was reported that there were three people in the car, who were seen making off in the direction of Lyndale Road after the crash.

Police attended the scene and carried out searches, but the occupants were not found. The vehicle has since been recovered whilst enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Sergeant Richard Symonds, of Weymouth and Portland police, said: “Our investigation is continuing, and I am keen to hear from any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw a vehicle matching the one described in the area prior to the incident.

“I would also urge residents or motorists who were in the vicinity to check any home CCTV systems or dashcam footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I am keen to hear from anyone who may have come across any items that appear they may have been discarded in the area, particularly in nearby gardens.”
