Armed police were seen in Upwey this morning after the emergency services responded to an incident.

Officers were seen in Church Street between Stottingway Street and Elwell Street along with paramedics on Friday, March 29.

Pictures taken of the incident show a car flipped on to its roof and damage to a stone wall which has been partially destroyed.  

It is believed that there was only one person in the car.

The incident occurred at around 10.30am and forced the road to be closed until about 11.30am

A member of the the public who saw the emergency service teams on Church Street said: "There were a number of police vehicles, first response paramedic, and ambulance. 

"I didn’t see the armed response car"
