A crash at a roundabout in East Dorset is causing severe disruption.

The collision involving a car and motorbike at the Canford Bottom roundabout  is causing serious delays to traffic

Dorset Police received a report at around 10.42am and have been forced to close the A31 in both directions with officers currently at the scene with the ambulance service.

The road between Canford Bottom and Amesyford is closed with severe delays and traffic between Wimborne and West Moors and there are tailbacks to the to Merley Roundabout.

Because of the A31 being closed, it is pushing all the traffic through Ferndown and causing very heavy delays through Ringwood Road as well as around the industrial estate.

Highways England has said the road is expected to be closed until around 2pm.

An air ambulance has also been seen flying overhead but has not landed.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 10.42am to a collision involving a car and a motorbike at Canford Bottom roundabout

"Officers are in attendance with the ambulance service

"The A31 is closed between Canford Bottom and Ameysford roundabouts."

South Western Ambulance has been contacted for more information.
