Trains and road traffic have been impacted by a problem at a level crossing in Wool.

Due to a problem at a level crossing at Wool, South Western Railway (SWR) trains have had to run at reduced speed on all lines this afternoon (Thursday, April 9)

The barriers had become stuck down at the crossing and the A352 road from Tout Hill had been closed, causing delays to traffic in the process.

Disruption was expected to last until 2pm today before SWR push it back until 5pm.

The problem was fixed and the barrier operational again by 4pm, allowing the road to reopen and trains to resume their normal service.

A spokesperson for SWR said: “We have been informed of a problem at a level crossing at Wool. This means that trains will have to run at a reduced speed as they pass through the area.

“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
