A man has pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following a crash that killed a mum and seriously injured her three-year-old son.
Sylwester Mielczarek, 40, appeared in Weymouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 10 charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
This relates to an incident on December 1, 2022, on the A30 westbound at Babylon Hill between Yeovil and Sherborne - approximately 70 metres west of the Loscombe Cross junction and the junction with Marl Lane.
Emergency services were called at around 4.50pm to reports of a crash involving three cars.

Charlotte Avis, aged 30, from Milborne Port, died at the scene. Her three-year-old son, who was strapped into a car seat, was hospitalised with serious injuries.

Mielczarek, of Horsey Lane, Yeovil, denies the charges against him.
He will next appear on Thursday, May 9 at Bournemouth Crown Court. He was released on unconditional bail.
