There’s not long to go until the owner of a Chickerell pub embarks on a ‘lovely jubbly’ charity cycle through Europe with two of his regulars.

Liam Coles, of the Lugger Inn will be accompanied by pub regulars Roger Boyd and Joe Mcsherry as they set off from the pub for the mammoth 740-mile ride on Saturday, April 20.

The trio will be cycling through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, before heading back to the Lugger – all within seven days.

They are completing the trip to raise funds for Fight Back Mental Health, Weldmar Hospicecare and the Life and Soul Community Trust.

Liam said: “Our aim is to cycle 700 miles over seven days as we are trying to support local charities at the moment.”

The trip has been completely self-funded by the lads so all of the donations will go towards the three charities.

Liam joked: "We have found this unique way to deal with our mini mid-life crises' by taking inspiration from the Only Fools and Horses 1985 Christmas special To Hull and Back."
