POLICE swooped to make an arrest after pulling over a car on a busy roundabout.

Police stopped a vehicle on the A35 at Monkeys Jump Roundabout in Dorchester on Thursday as part of an inquiry to trace a person wanted by the courts.

A man was due to appear in court today following the operation.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At around 10.55am on Thursday, April 11, officers stopped a vehicle on the A35 at Monkeys Jump Roundabout in Dorchester in relation to an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.

"A 45-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested and was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday April 12."
