FORENSIC teams having been carrying out investigations after raiders broke into a Weymouth supermarket this morning.

Police were called to the Co-op on Chickerell Road near Budmouth Academy following reports of a break-in.

It appears the intruders smashed a large pane of glass to get in.

The damage to the side of the shop was evident as shocked shoppers arrived at the store with part of the area cordoned off.

The shop is open as usual - although staff were advising customers they could only use the self-service tills with cards as the main counter had been blocked off.
