Hundreds turned out to bask in the sun and take part in a beachside family festival.

The Seaweed Shenanigans festival took place on Castle Cove Beach in Weymouth on Saturday, April 20, to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the new steps to the beach being built.

The event organised by the Friends of Castle Cove Beach Charity saw a whole range of quirky, fun and educational events, including a sand sculpture contest, mermaids and music.
