A road was blocked both ways after a car caught fire this morning.
The road was blocked on Spread Eagle Hill between White Pit Lane and the airfield.
The road is now reported to be cleared as of 11.33am, and traffic has returned to normal.
Initially, this incident was reported as a crash involving a lorry, Dorset Police have since confirmed that it was in fact a car fire.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "Shaftesbury Fire Station attended a car fire at 9.30am in Melbury Abbas.
"The fire was extinguished using two hose reels and one breathing apparatus with police managing scene safety."
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 9.33am by the fire service to a report of one vehicle on fire. We went to support with road closures."
