A teenager allegedly entered a property with a knife, prompting an armed police swoop.
Officers rushed to Marston Road in Sherborne last night after it was reported that two young people had entered a property.
One of the boys was said to have had a knife in his possession at the time.
Police searched the area assisted by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter in an effort to locate the suspects.
Nearby residents described seeing ‘lots of marked and unmarked police cars in the area,’ and suggested that the police helicopter had been ‘circling the area for more than half an hour.’
No one was injured during the incident.
Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident and no arrests have been made.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 8.14pm on Wednesday, April 24 that two young people had entered an address in Marston Road in Sherborne.
“It is reported that one of the boys was in possession of a knife. Officers attended and carried out searches of the area, assisted by the NPAS helicopter, in a bid to locate the suspects. No one was injured during the incident. No arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing into the incident.”
