The bandmates of a local musician and filmmaker who sadly passed away from a rare condition are playing a charity gig in his memory.

Rob Goodwin died in January 2022 following a battle with motor neurone disease (MND).

In celebration of his life, Weymouth band Replay, with whom Rob played during his last few years will be performing at Weymouth Pavillion alongside Ed Hintze, a close friend of Rob’s and keyboard playing bandmate for The Monty who had Rob as their drummer for many years.

As a very special guest, Rob's son, Jack, will be stepping into his dad's shoes to be The Monty's drummer for the evening.

The event aptly named Rob ‘n’ Roll is set to take place at the Ocean Room at Weymouth Pavilion on Saturday, May 18 and was named after Rob by his wife, Jane, who was by his side when he passed away from Motor Neurone Disease at the age of 68.

There will also be a raffle and an auction of to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association which will fund support for families and research into treatment for MND.

Tickets for the event are £12 and can be purchased here: https://weymouthpavilion.com/shows/rob-n-roll-a-night-to-remember/.
