Dorset Council has released a new video showcasing the support available at its independent living centre in Dorchester.

The Greenwood Independent Living Centre (ILC) is a place people can visit for advice and support to maintain living independently at home.

The centre has a wide range of equipment for people to look at and try, to see if it meets their individual needs.

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "Check out our new video showcasing the support available at our Greenwood Independent Living Centre (ILC).

"Located in Dorchester, the Greenwood ILC, is a place you can visit for advice and support to maintain living independently in your home.

"Free, impartial assessments with an Occupational Therapist are offered in a quiet, confidential setting.

"Our occupational therapist’s offer information and practical solutions to adults of all ages and disabilities, their carers and families, wanting to maintain independence in their daily activities and routines.

"There is a wide range of equipment to look at and try, to see if it meets individual needs.

"For example, bathing and showering equipment, a riser recliner and high back chairs, walking aids, wheelchairs, and a scooter, meal preparation, feeding and drinking aids and much more!

"Visits to the centre are by appointment only from Monday to Friday and between 9.00am to 4.00pm."

Free parking is available on site with two disabled spaces close to the entrance. The building is wheelchair accessible.
