People can dust off their dancing shoes and enjoy a lively evening of folk music at a barn dance in Dorchester.

The Ceilidh dance band Tatterdemalion will be returning to the Dorchester Corn Exchange to perform traditional folk music from 19th century Dorset.

The word 'ceilidh' comes from the Scots Gaelic for a gathering, and in modern usage, it refers to dancing and playing traditional folk music in a social hall.

The event will take place from 7pm to 10pm on Saturday, May 25 to raise money for the Dorchester Youth Theatre

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments will be available from the bar, and there will also be a raffle prizes to be won.
