One of Weymouth's most popular events is underway and people are taking advantage with the sun out.

Fayre in the Square kicked off on Saturday, May 25 with live music, craft stalls, a kids art tent and plenty of drinks available to punters.

The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Weymouth and serves as a fundraiser to help them continue their work in supporting local causes.

Hundreds or people came out to enjoy the festivities which adorned Weymouth's harbourside and Hope Square.

This year there is a new addition to the event as well with the Kids Street tent set up on Cove Row.

Children are busy getting creative making fish collages - with the help of the Houseworks Arts team - that will be paraded around the event on Sunday afternoon.

Hannah Chapman of Weymouth was really pleased to see so much on offer for kids and at an affordable price too as she queued for the face painting stall.

She said: "It is about trying to find stuff for the kids to do to keep them distracted and the prices here are amazing."

There was plenty of brilliant live music with Total Madness a particular highlight for the crowd as they belted out classics from the 2 Tone era including, Wings of a Dove, Night boat to Cairo and a rendition of It Must be Love, with the crowd following along in full voice.

There is plenty of food on offer too with burgers, Thai food, seafood, donuts and ice creams all being served up.

Pilgrims House, which is just next to the stage in Hope Square was also serving hot food and cold drinks and offering some respite away from the sun.

If you missed out on Saturday - don't worry - it will be happening all over again today from 10am until 6pm.
