A woman has been arrested following reports of children being assaulted at a park on Portland.
Dorset Police received reports that a group of children had been assaulted within Easton Gardens yesterday (Wednesday, June 12) at 8.34pm.
Arriving within two minutes, officers identified the woman, who was arrested, and has been assisting officers with enquiries.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “This evening Portland NPT responded to reports of a group of children who had just been assaulted within Easton Gardens.
“Police received the report at 8.34pm and thankfully officers were nearby on patrol and were on scene at 8.36pm.
“We quickly identified the female involved with help from members of the public and at 8.56pm the female was assisting us with our enquiries.
“We appreciate this incident may have been distressing for some however, we would like to reassure you that we had the situation under control quickly and will deal robustly with any offences committed.”
