Visitors to the county hospital will need to take a diversion this weekend due to construction work.

From 4pm on Friday, June 14 until 4pm Sunday, June 16, no vehicles will be able to access the area between the South Wing 1 and North Wing 1 entrances at Dorset County Hospital.

Any vehicles dropping off or picking people up will need to use the area outside North Wing Entrance 2/Portesham Unit.

This diversion is caused by construction works as part of the Ridgeway Ward refurbishment.

A spokesperson for Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: "If you're visiting Dorset County Hospital this weekend June 14 to 16 please be aware that diversions will be in place for pedestrians and vehicles due to construction works by the South Wing 1 and North Wing 1 entrances as part of our Ridgeway Ward refurbishment."

On Saturday, June 15, South Wing Entrance 1 will be closed to pedestrians, but people can access the North Wing Entrance 1. Signs and diversions will be in place. Marshals will be on-site on the day to assist.

The GP Out of Hours service will be held in Orthopaedic Outpatients on South Wing Level 1 during the weekend (June 14 to 16). Patients must access this via the East Wing entrance by the pencil sculpture.

Normal service will resume on Monday.
