The main route between Weymouth and Dorchester was partially blocked by a broken down caravan.
Slow traffic was reported along the Weymouth Relief Road after a caravan lost a wheel.
The inside lane was blocked by police as the situation was dealt with.
The vehicle was later moved off the carriageway.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police, said: "At 11.04am on Friday 14 June, we received a report of a broken-down vehicle towing a caravan on the A354 Weymouth Relief Road.
"One lane was temporarily blocked. Officers attended the scene and the vehicle was moved off the carriageway at around 12pm."
