A boy has been injured in a dog attack at a shopping centre in Weymouth.
Dorset Police have now released a statement saying that a boy's hand and leg were injured in the attack at the Littlemoor Shopping Centre yesterday at around 2.40pm.
The boy was taken to hospital. Police say that his injuries are not believed to be serious.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 2.40pm on Saturday, June 15 that a boy was bitten by a dog in Littlemoor Shopping Centre in Weymouth.
"The victim sustained an injury to his hand and leg and attended hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious.
"Officers attended and carried out searches of the area. Enquiries are continuing into the incident."
People reportedly heard a scream and saw the boy - estimated to be around six years old - bleeding 'profusely'.
