A Dorchester care home was presented with a prestigious award at a ceremony celebrating the outstanding achievements of care staff.
Maiden Castle House care home, on Gloucester Road, received the Care Home of the Year award at Care South’s 15th annual Stars Awards ceremony which took place at AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium.
The care home also received an award for the Activities Team of the Year.
Over the past year, the care home has fulfilled a number of the residents’ special wishes, which included Hilda getting her first tattoo aged 89, motorbike-loving Joe taking part in his own motorbike rally aged 77, and Jean trying boxing for the first time aged 105.
Ashley Smith, Home Manager at Maiden Castle House, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as Care Home of the Year.
“I’m very proud of the whole team who work incredibly hard to ensure each resident is cared for in the way that they would like and that their wishes are honoured.
“Our belief at Care South is that all residents should enjoy food, fun and friendship, and we ensure that that is made possible for them every day.”
