AN EVENING planned to help veterans' combat stress will be a tribute to Commander Geoff Hunt.

The Echoes of Combat evening will be held on Saturday, October 4, in Cerne Abbas Village Hall in aid of veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress.

The event will feature poetry, prose and music from the conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The inspiration for the event came from the late Commander Hunt who died in August and was a popular member of the Cerne Abbas community.

He was also an accomplished marine artist and one of his framed limited edition paintings will be auctioned at the event.

The Combat Stress charity has supported almost 100,000 veterans dealing with mental illness and post traumatic stress disorder.

The tickets are £10, which includes a glass of wine, and are on sale from the Cerne Abbas Village Stores or from the box office at the Warrens, 7 Barton Farm, which can be contacted on 01300 341518.
