TESCO has appealed against a seven-day suspension of its alcohol licence at its Dorchester store.
The move follows a hearing last month by the West Dorset District Council licensing sub-committee after a cashier sold an alcoholic drink to an under-age customer.
The committee imposed the ban along with conditions including changes to the store's till computer system to prevent under-age sales happening again.
The ban was due to come into effect 21 days after the hearing to allow either side to appeal.
Ryan Bransome, the district council's senior licensing officer, said: "The Dorchester Tesco store has complied with the conditions set by the licensing sub-committee.
"However, an appeal has been lodged by Tesco and no action will be considered until the appeal is heard by the magistrates' court."
