A PIECE of crystal was handed over amid celebrations when Portland's Royal Manor Arts College received a national award.
The college won the Future Vision Tour Award for building links with feeder schools and people living on the island.
Headteacher Paul Green said: "We are absolutely delighted.
"It's a nice piece of crystal which is a deserving tribute not just to us as lead school but to all the schools on Portland."
Royal Manor pupils welcomed a 60-strong party of national business, educationalists and Government delegates when the award was presented.
They visited the college, primary schools on the island and watched a production at the Portland Spa theatre.
Mr Green said: "It was a memorable evening which saw some of our pupils performing music, dance and drama on a sea theme. All in all, it's extremely exciting times at Royal Manor."
