A crash is causing traffic chaos on a busy route.

A single-vehicle collision has been reported on the A35 near to Monkeys Jump Roundabout.

A nearby driver reported seeing a car which had crashed into a lamppost, adding that the incident was causing ‘major tailbacks.’

Another driver said: "It took ages to get across the Ridgeway. Traffic is all backed up in Poundbury as well."

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Single vehicle collision occurred at around 4pm at Monkeys Jump Roundabout, Dorchester. Officers are in attendance with ambulance service."
