A MULTI-CULTURAL day is being held at the Dorford Centre in Dorchester tomorrow from 11am to 4pm.

The South West Dorset Multicultural Network is hosting the second annual Celebration Day.

The free event includes workshops and activities for adults and children to celebrate the various different cultures in the area.

The event is part of the celebration of Black History Month in Dorset.

The Dorset Multicultural Celebration Day is aimed at providing an opportunity to highlight the contribution black and ethnic minority people make to society.

The main hall will have stalls and a variety of 'hands on' workshops, including African dance from Abeng, a magic drum circle from Ralph Cree and a musical performance by Ifa Yoruba.

There will be native American storytelling from Broken Lance and a belly dance workshop from Clare Davies.

Elsewhere in the centre, poet Louisa Adjoa Parker will be giving readings from her publications and Grazina Ellis will be sharing her Lithuanian heritage through music and song.

Lesley Craze will be teaching Scottish dancing.

There will be a variety of activities from the West Dorset Action Van and Dorset library service for younger visitors.
