A swap shop which has prevented tonnes of rubbish being thrown away is set to return to Weymouth.
Dorset Council Waste Services began hosting 'Give or Take Days' last year, where people can swap any unwanted items for free.
The last seven events prevented more than 3.7 tonnes of items from being thrown away, taken instead by delighted residents to reuse.
Visitors can browse among the items donated to see if there is anything they can make good use of.
Unwanted items can include furniture, clothing, kitchenware, tools, DVDs, toys and books.
Items not allowed include duvets and pillows, electricals, gas appliances and items in a poor condition.
The event is free and you do not need to bring an item along to attend.
The next Give or Take Day will be hosted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Chickerell Road in Weymouth on Saturday, October 12.
A maximum of fifteen items can be dropped off from 9am until 12pm with doors opening at 9.30am.
If there’s a community interested in hosting their own Give or Take Day, with support from Dorset Council’s Recycling Team, they can request a copy of the toolkit by emailing wasteteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.
