The real-life Doc Martin is set to make a special appearance at a popular summer fete today.
Martin Clunes will once again support the annual Weldmar Summer Fete which takes place in the meadow and gardens of Weldmar Hospicecare’s Inpatient Unit in Herringston Road, Dorchester.
The event is taking place today - Saturday, September 14 - from 11am-4pm, and will be full of family fun with entertainment, games, activities, stalls and more.
A great selection of live music will be playing throughout the afternoon from Tony Lowe, Andy Collett and Jazz band, Dr Jazz.
The Ranch will also be bringing along an exciting selection of animals for visitors to meet.
Visitors will also have the chance to visit stalls run by teams from across the charity, including Weldmar at Home, Complementary Therapy, and the raffle at the famous Nurses’ Stall.
A spokesperson for Weldmar said: “As well as raising vitals funds for the charity, the Summer Fete holds a special place in the hearts of many of our visitors, as it will often be the first time they come back and see some of the team who looked after their loved ones during such a difficult time.”
Both children and adults will also be captivated by the bubble tricks on display from The Lovely Bubbly Show and a performance by dancers from The Studio.
Entry into the event is £2 for adults, with children going free,
A free shuttle bus is also being put on by First Bus will from the Dorchester South station bus stop to the Weldmar grounds.
