Police have issued advice after reports of ‘intimidating’ rogue traders in Dorset.
According to police, individuals described as being intimidating and pushy, have been attending properties in Dorchester.
Quotes were provided for the work, but this did not allow a cooling off period, which would subsequently see them turning up to undertake the work without arrangement.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorchester Police have received reports of rogue traders in the area.
“Should you experience any of this kind of behaviour, please report to Trading standards and police if these individuals refuse to leave your property.”
Trading Standards use the information to investigate unfair trading and illegal business activity.
A list of trading standards approved traders can be found on the Buy with Confidence website, visit www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk for more details.
