There are long delays to traffic due to a broken down vehicle between Dorchester and Weymouth.
The road was partially blocked along the A354 Weymouth Relief Road whilst the vehicle was moved off the road and recovered, police say.
Despite, the road being cleared at 5.05pm the traffic in the area has built up and there are delays in both directions.
Traffic travelling towards Dorchester is backing up towards Bincombe Down, whilst tailbacks are also forming along the A35.
From the Stinsford roundabout to the Stadium roundabout there are long delays for traffic heading west and traffic heading east is backing up towards Monkey's Jump roundabout.
Traffic heading out of Dorchester town centre along Weymouth Avenue is also slow and delays are expected for anyone heading towards the Stadium roundabout at this time.
Motorists should find alternative routes where possible as long delays are expected.
