Passengers travelling towards Weymouth have been facing major disruption due to a problem at a level crossing.
South Western Railway (SWR) reported all lines were blocked due to a problem at a level crossing at Brockenhurst station at around 7.13am this morning.
CrossCountry trainline confirmed that a road vehicle was blocking the railway at the station.
This was affecting trains travelling on the London Waterloo to Weymouth line as well as CrossCountry services between Manchester Piccadilly/Birmingham New Street and Bournemouth.
Many passengers were experiencing delays and some cancellations.
Lines reopened at 8.21am however disruption is still expected to last until 3pm today.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "We were informed of a problem at a level crossing at Brockenhurst earlier.
"All lines have now reopened and train services will now be able to run as planned, but due to the length of the closure it may take some time to restore the service to normal.
"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
