A TV presenter has been seen filming in Weymouth and Portland for a new documentary series.
Professor Alice Roberts, who is known for her appearances on BBC's Digging For Britain and Channel 4's Britain's Most Historic Towns, was seen at Sandsfoot Castle Gardens in Weymouth.
The production company Rare TV confirmed to the Echo that filming was taking place for the latest series of BBC's Digging for Britain - a documentary series presented by Alice Roberts that explores archaeological excavations in the UK.
The company confirmed that it will be shown on BBC2 early in 2025.
In a post on her public Facebook page, Prof Roberts announced that she was filming for the documentary series, taking shots from the coast of Portland.
In another post she said that filming had taken place at a hillfort which is believed to be Maiden Castle.
Prof Roberts has been delving making archaeology programmes, for nearly 20 years. She joined Time Team as a bone expert before going on to present anthropology and archaeology stories on BBC Two’s popular Coast series and co-presenting The Celts in 2015.
