A remembrance display will be held in Dorchester in memory of all babies who have been lost in miscarriage or early infancy.

The Forget-Me-Not group at Dorset County Hospital will be hosting a Sands Ribbon Display to support bereaved families during Baby Loss Awareness Week (October 9 to October 15).

Throughout the week, ribbons displaying the names of the babies being remembered are invited to be added to the bandstand in Borough Gardens which are open from 8am to 6pm daily.

People can personalise their own ribbons with babies names and/or a message, which can then be tied to the bandstand.

The display is in partnership with the Dorchester branch of Sands - a national stillbirth and neonatal death charity.

All ribbons can be collected by Wednesday, October 16 before they are removed the following day.

The Forget Me Not Suite within Dorset County Hospital’s maternity unit, provides a place where parents can spend as much time as they wish with their baby who has died.
