A man has been arrested in connection with an assault in Weymouth town centre.
The incident occurred at around 12.50am on Sunday, September 29 near to the junction of Caroline Place and Westham Road.
It was reported that a man aged in his 30s was assaulted and sustained serious facial injuries.
Following enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in police custody at this time.
