A pedestrian was injured in a crash tonight.
Emergency services were called to Fortuneswell, Portland, just after 9pm.
A collision - involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle, according to police -took place near the Britannia Inn.
Police and paramedics were sent to the scene and the air ambulance was scrambled.
Shortly before 10pm, a Dorset Police statement said:
"Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision near to the Britannia Inn in Fortuneswell on Portland.
"Road closures are in place and we would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding at this time."
An eyewitness said traffic was being diverted through some of the back streets.
At 11pm, police said they were looking to reopen the road.
