A man has been arrested following a crash on Portland.
As previously reported, a serious crash on Portland caused extensive damage to a wall.
Police received reports the one-car crash off the mini roundabout on Wide Street, opposite St George's Church on Portland at around midnight on Sunday, October 20.
According to police, the driver was not with the car on arrival, prompting a search of the area including the use of police dogs. A man was tracked and was helping officers with enquiries.
Now, police have revealed that a 31-year-old man from Weymouth has been arrested and charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
He is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 8.
Matt Randell, chairman of the Portland Red Triangle Cricket Club, said the club was aware of the incident, and that it is a police matter.
It's not yet known when the wall will be repaired.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “A 31-year-old man from Weymouth has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 8.”
